Archbishop Cruz Retires
Share
Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz retired from his position at the age of 74. This was after Pope Benedict XVI approved his request to retire from the position as an Archbishop as prescribed by the church’s Code of Canon Law that the retirement age for bishops is at 75 years old. Cruz will be replaced by Balanga Bishop Socrates Villegas. Cruz became CBCP President from 1995-1999.
