NYC to Young Facebook Users
0In light of the recent incident involving actor-director Ricky Rivero and a friend he met through Facebook, the National Youth Commission warns the youth to be more responsible and cautious in using social networking sites. “It’s very easy to be friendly and outgoing on Facebook, you lose all inhibitions, hindi ka mahiyain, and you can be a whole new different person online. But you have to be careful of the people you’re befriending; you can’t really tell a person’s character based on his or her profile page,” says Chairman Leon Flores III.

0A lot of netizens are changing their profile pictures into a cartoon character for a cause in favor of child protection from violence. Instead of putting their human body pictures, they change profile pic into their favorite cartoons.
Social Media Accounts Seek Justice for Hazing Victim
0The social media specifically through Facebook and Twibbon has been a ground for seeking justice for hazing victim E.J. Karl Intia.
The victim, a fast-food worker taking a vocational course in University of Makati, was found dead near a ravine in Laguna province Sunday, a day after he went missing.
His friends use Twibbon for a cause and that is to demand justice. Below the account is a Facebook link that is easy to recognize in order for the people to “like” and also, tweet the cause.
After the account was created, it immediately gained supporters.
There were comments on the page stating the following:
“Katapanagn ba yong pinakita nyo mga apo???hinayaan nyo lng yung cousin ko ..tinapon nyo pa (Is this what you call courage, APO? You abandoned my cousin and dumped his body),” said Jet Sultan.
“SA MGA TAONG INVOLVE DTO,,HINDI KO ALAM KUNG PAANO KYO PINAPATULON NG KONSENSYA NYO,,TINANGGALAN NYO NG PANGARAP ANG KANYANG MGA MAGULANG MAAWA NMAN KYO ,,AT TUMULONG NA MABIGYAN NG HUSTISYA ANG PAG KAMATAY NI EJ,,, (To the people involved here, I do not know how your consciences can bear what you did. You snuffed out the dream of his parents. Have mercy and help attain justice),” said Jean Castro.
