Since Ricky Carandang has resigned from ABS-CBN from his work sa anchor on ANC to work for President Noynoy Aquino, the network has been looking for his replacement.

One of the initial people they are tapping is former host David Celdran. Here are some information we were able to get about Celdran:


David M. Celdran is a Philippine broadcast journalist and producer. He is Director for Current Affairs and Television Production of the ABS-CBN News Channel, responsible for the programming and production of the channel’s talk and debate programs. He is also a contributor and senior anchorperson for the network.

In addition, he is one of the board members of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ). He was given a 2001 Asia Leadership Fellowship Program (ALFP) for his research topic: Surviving the Marketplace of Ideas in the Age of Electronic Media.

He delivered the 14th Asia-Europe Lecture Tour, entitled “Tabloid Democracy: The Paradox of Press Freedom in Asia and Europe”, which took place from 25th May to 5th June, 2006 at the following institutions in Europe: Institute of European Affairs (Dublin), University of Amsterdam and International Institute for Asian Studies (Amsterdam), Swedish Institute for International Affairs, University of Tampere and the Soros Foundation (Riga).
