Typhoon Bebeng update as of May 10, 2011
0PAGASA issued latest weather update at: 5:00 a.m., 10 May 2011 .
At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm “BEBENG” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 120 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes (19.5 °N, 122.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move North Northeast at 17 kph.

DFA allows Filipinos in Japan, Bahrain to return home but own fare
0The Department of Foreign Affairs said the Overseas Filipino Workers in Japan and Bahrain should shoulder their fare to come back in the Philippines.
The said decision of DFA was due to the level of crisis currently happening in these countries. This is applicable not only to the OFWs but also to the non-essential embassy personnel and dependents.
The said crisis level was determine to be in level two. According to DFA, as of now, they should pay their own fare. But if the crisis level goes up to number three, that is the time for the Department to pay for them in order to go home.
It was assured by DFA that the funds of the government were enough in case the need for repatriation occurs which will mean an upgrade to the level of crisis.
Nevertheless, the safety of the Filipinos abroad will be ensured by the Department.
Lawmakers urge jobs for deported OFWs
0The deportation and volunteer repatriation of the Overseas Filipino Workers in tsunami-hit Japan and strongly agitated countries in the Middle East like Libya and Bahrain would result to the increase of unemployment in our country.

Muzikademy at Fontana
0Muzikademy, a nationwide music camp to be held on November 26-27 at Fontana Resort, Pampanga, will gather future music gems of the new generation. The objective of the said camp is to discover future music magnets and ingenious composers mainly from out-of-school youths and college students.
Bands, soloists, trios and duos were given chance to showcase their musical skills in front of different music gurus lead by Monet Silvestre, Pinoy Dream Academy’s resident mentor.
On the first day of the camp, specialized topics will be presented by Teacher Monet and by other music industry experts delivered through highly-spirited discussions and interactions with the magic of lyrics, rhythm and symphonies.
Other names in the industry that will join the scholars in building their music capability and personality are Mr. Carlo Orosa, Sam Concepcion and McCoy Fundales of Kenyo Band.
Fun and interesting lectures will continue on the second day of the event plus the awarding of lucky top three winners of the Muzikademy who will join Janice Hung and other celebrities in a jam-packed concert.
The musical gathering is pioneered and organized by Janice Hung, wushu champion/actress/model/acoustic singer and co-presented by Fontana together with Summa Hana Arts and Language Foundation and the Janice Hung Arts and Sports Foundation. It is presented by LG, Accel and Dental First and supported by Pampanga’s Gov. Baby Pineda and Commission on Higher Education.
