Dragon Boat Team gets 5 golds; no support from government
1Cobra Philippine Dragon Boat Team dominated in five rowing events and set two new world records, besting countries such as Australia, Hungary, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago in the International Dragon Boat Federation’s 10th World Championships held recently in Tampa Bay, Florida. The team won a total of five gold medals and two silver medals.

Araneta Coliseum changed name to SMART Araneta
1The Araneta Coliseum popularly known as the Big Dome is now known as SMART Araneta Coliseum as part of a naming rights deal.
The change of name is valid for at least five years starting July 23. Araneta’s partnership with Smart will reportedly provide the legendary coliseum with resources to improve access to the upper box and general admission. A huge parking lot will also be constructed. Smart on the other hand, will get a property to promote its products and services and enhance name recall. It will be mutually beneficial for both parties.
