CA junks ABS-CBN’s copyright infringement case vs ABC TV5

The Court of Appeals(CA) has dismissed a copyright infringement case filed by media giant ABS-CBN against former talent Willie Revillame, ABC Development Corporation and its president Ray Espinosa, and Wilproductions Inc. before a Makati City trial court in connection with “striking similarities” between Revillame’s now-defunct show “Wowowee” with ABS-CBN and his subsequent game show “Willing Willie” with ABC.

GMA Network loses P100 million damage suit versus ABS-CBN

THE Court of Appeals (CA) has granted the petition filed by the Lopez-owned television network ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation to dismiss the P100 million civil suit lodged by its rival, GMA Network Inc. after it issued statements accusing the latter of stealing footage on the arrival of Iraqi hostage victim Angelo de la Cruz in 2004.
