The Grand Finalist vying for the title of the Next Big Star, 1 Miliion pesos cash prize a Condominium unit from Avida Towers and an exclusive GMA-7 management and recording contract will give their best to win. GMA 7′s Celebrity Duets is now on its 3rd season starting August 29. Hosted by Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, it will feature celebrities like you’ve never seen them before to sing and perform live. Tessa Prieto Valdez and Chairman Bayani Fernando of MMDA stand out on its previous season. Celebrity Duets Season 3 premieres August 29, Saturday after Pinoy Records.

Hale’s new album, ” Kundiman “

Hales transformed its music style via their new album ” Kundiman ” from Polyeast records. Its carrier single is “Bahay Kubo” was interpreted in a Hip-hop way, another something new to discover for those who will listen to it. The album concept is designed to reflect on the Filipino culture. Hale started in 2005 with Champ Lui-Pio, on vocals, Sheldon Gelada and Rol Martinez on guitars. New drummer Pao Santis joined the band in December 2008 and kundiman marked his debut with Hale. Other cuts include, “Kalesa,” “Ulap,” “Aso at Pusa,” and “Yakap”.

Madrigal Singers chosen as UNESCO’s Artist for Peace

UNESCO – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization chose our very own Philippine Madrigal Singers as the newest Artist for Peace. Their efforts to promote dialogue and understanding among people in Southeast Asia and their contribution to extend UNESCO’s message of peace and tolerance, and their dedication to the ideals and aims of the Organization through their music was the UNESCO’s base for them to give the recognition. They will participate in series of projects, including Concerts for Peace, a Sing for Peace festival and various choral singing classes, workshops and other activities for two years as Ambassadors for Peace. The group has trained more than 200 singers and choral music specialists since they started in 1963.

VOIZBoys Concert – August 8

VOIZBoys, a new all male group in ASAP 09′, will be having their first concert this coming August 8, 2009 to be held at the Metro Concert Bar. The group was composed of four good looking guys like Guji Lorenzana, Jay-R Siaboc, Nico Antonio and Ronnie Liang. Pokwang will be their special guest for that event.
