Gaga is MTV Awards’ Top Winner
0Lady Gaga received 8 awards out of 14 categories in the concluded MTV Video Music Awards, the top winner of the night. She won the “Video of the Year: for Bad Romance.
Gaga, as expected, wore the most outrageous dress in the event. She is in meat-styled dress which includes a meat purse and a meat headdress sure to anger PETA.
She snatched her other trophies from the following categories: Female video, Pop Video, Collaboration, Dance Video, Choreography, Editing and Direction for her album ‘Bad Romance’.
And as she grabbed her last award, she sang her latest single “Born This Way”.
Glee Casts Charice Pempengco
0International singing sensation Charice Pempengco announced on Twitter that she will be joining Season 2 of the famous television series Glee.
The popular Filipina singer posted on Tuesday: “It’s official. I’m on Glee (next season) but story behind it. When [the] rumor came out, it wasn’t true.”
Charice first denied that she will be on Glee’s Season 2 almost a month ago. Posted on her twitter page is the statement, “I just want to let you all know that it’s not true that I’m going to be on Glee… How I wish! Haha.” Her mother, Raquel Pempengco, also denied the report.
But this time, it’s for real. Charice will set to play the role of a foreign exchange student on Glee. Her killer vocal power is expected to bring out additional hits to the popular TV musical.
Charice auditioned in the said series and fortunately she got a ticket to another worldwide exposure.
“And i made it!!! Let’s Party!!!!,” Charice said.
The 18-year-old singer now actress launched her debut global album in “The Oprah Winfrey Show” last May 10. She is also expected to sing the national anthem during President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino’s inauguration on June 30.
Namie Amuro endorses Coke Zero in the Philippines
1So what is that upbeat music video in the new commercial of Coke Zero? It sounds pretty interesting despite being sang in Japanese. We learned that the girl is Japan’s popular pop singer named Amuro Namie.
Going Wild with Amuro Namie
4It looks like a new Asian singer is going to hit Manila soon and it’s a name we haven’t heard yet. This time, it’s not coming from South Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong but from Japan. Her name is Amuro Namie.
Remember that name — Amuro Namie — ‘coz she’s going to strike the Philippine airwaves anytime soon. So far, what we’ve got is this music video of her most popular song called “Wild“.
The lyrics might sound mumbo-jumbo (okay, except for that line that goes “Let’s get wild!“) to many of us Filipinos but this is not the first time we danced to a tune of a song we couldn’t even spell, right?
The song, Wild, was released in March 2009 and became her 11th #1 single. She also broke her own record of having all of her singles debut in the Top 10 (on the daily charts) for the last 15 years.
Amuro has been in the Japanese music industry since the late 90′s and over a decade since her musical debut, Amuro has remained one of the longest surviving popular female acts in Japan. She is the only Japanese female artist to have achieved a Top 10 single each year for fourteen consecutive years. Now, that’s a record worthy of the title “Queen of J-Pop“.

Ellen de Generes – American Idol Season 9 Judge
0Fox News has revealed the 4th judge of the upcoming Season 9 of the American Idol and that was Ellen de Generes, host of the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. She will be replacing Paula Abdul who resigned from the show recently. She will be joined with judges Kara DioGuardi, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. This would be very exciting as Ellen joins the American Idol Season 9 that will open this coming January 2010.

She will compete with Brazilian- Japanese Model Akihiro Sato, Jomari Yllna, Bb.Pilipinas Candidate Janina San Miguel, Joel Cruz, and other celebrities. She also revealed of having sleepless nights since she learned about the competition as she doesn’t have any experience in singing but she will give her best to compete. Christian Bautista Collaborates with Sarah Geronimo
0Christian Bautista will be releasing his album soon entitled, Romance Revisited : The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan. This time, he collaborates with Sarah Geronimo as they revived the song Please Be Careful with My Heart originally done by Regine Velasquez and Jose Mari Chan. In spite of their different recording outfits, where Sarah is from Viva while Christian is from Universal records, they have already made an arrangement for the said album so that there will be no conflicts in the end.
