The World Food Program (WFP) administered an online application called WeFeedback which calculate the equivalent of your sumptuous and said to be luxurious meal to the number of hungry children it can feed.

It may be your monster-sized pizza, extra special burger or your frappe cappucino. Whatever it is, it can be converted to the amount of donations you could give to the hungry children around the world instead of having your extravagant meal.

WeFeedback is about “sharing food and changing lives.” Its mission is “to enlist your help and the help of your social networks in the fight against the chronic hunger that burdens families all over the world.”

How it works?
You choose your favorite food, put it into the Feedback Calculator along with the estimated cost, and then calculate how many hungry children this would feed. The next step is to donate exactly that amount. Or, if you want, you donate multiples of that amount. In this way you feedback more portions of your favorite food.

You can also share the application to your friends so they can also share foods to hungry children.

The application is an initiative of the WFP to fight one of the worst societal problems of the world which is hunger. “Each year, WFP brings food to millions of people so they can move on with their lives, receive an education, find employment and create a better life for their families.”

Gore, world-renowned steward for environment, is a Nobel Prize awardee who bang the bulletin last week because he and his wife announced that they will be ending their 40-years marital status.

KC Concepcion, National Ambassador of the Philippines against hunger, lead the 7,000 participants in the walk-a-thon held at Taguig City on Sunday.

“Merong mga budget siguro na maaaring hindi buong-buo napupunta sa dapat puntahan,” KC mentioned regarding the cause of hunger in our country.

The overflowing number of attendees, according to UN World Food Programme country director Stephen Anderson, showed that many people are willing and caring enough to help to the said cause.

The yearly event was our country’s version of UN World Food Programme’s “Walk the World: End Hunger” participated by 70 countries. It was started in Australia and will end in Samoa.

The event’s aim is to raise fund to help save the world from hunger.

former President Corazon Aquino was honored by the House of Representatives through a house resolution, that aims her to be a National Hero because of her biggest contribution to our democracy. The House Resolution No. 42 was filed by Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza of and Rep. Liwayway Chato. Meanwhile, Senator Noynoy Aquino thanked all those in the House who honored her mother through that resolution. The resolution will also declare January 25 as ” Cory Aquino Day ” that will be celebrated each year. According to Rep. Abraham Mitra, the decision is yet to be finalized hopefully by next week.

Italian Red Cross volunteer Eugenio Vagni was released yesterday for almost six months in the hands of Abu Sayyaf. It was a very emotional reunion for him and his family as he was released at the Barangay Lagasan Asibi, Maimbung town at about 12:30 a.m. It was leaded by Marine Maj. Gen. Juancho Sabban and Sulu Vice Gov. Lady Anne Sahidulla. Meanwhile, they denied the alleged ransom paid for Vagni’s release saying the militants agreed to release Vagni in exchange for livelihood projects in Sulu. Meanwhile, Pope Benedict XVI expressed his gratitude towards the good news.

Former President Corazon Aquino continues to recover well as she can now eat fruits and talks to her kin in the hospital. According to Ms. Deedee Siytangco, the Former President can now talk to her daughter Kris Aquino as the latter told her yesterday. Meanwhile, The Aquino family was offended by text messages that circulated recently, saying that the former President has succumbed to her colon cancer. Instead of getting mad about the issue, they just continued their prayers for the past recovery of their mother. A lot of prayer vigils were also conducted by different organizations composed of religious groups, students and those who continue to support the former President since her term in 1986.

Vandolph Quizon can’t hide his happiness as Jenny gave birth to Vito Vann last June 10 at St. Lukes Medical Hospital. Vandolph can’t help but shed tears for happiness that they are now a happy family. The Comedy King Dolphy, was their first visitor to come over at the hospital after Vito Vann came. Naval chief for Southwestern Philippines Rear Admiral Alex Palma confirmed the release of Umar Jaleel,a Sri lkankan National and a member of Brussels-based Nonviolent Peaceforce after being kidnapped for almost three months by an armed group connected to Abu Sayyaf Bandits. He was freed last Wednesday in Tipo Tipo, Basilan. His release came two weeks after a group of men freed three teachers they have abducted last January in Zamboanga City.
