Customs Seized Elephant Tusks

Bureau of Customs confiscated worth P50 millionof elephant tusks from Tanzania that were allegedly smuggled through the Port of Manila.Joey Yuchongco of ESS said the Elephant Tusks were consigned to a certain 210 Enterprises.Ivory tusks is known for its good quality as a perfect material in making sculpted images of saints.And elephants are now facing extinction thats why producing of this is prohibited by the law.The seized cargo came from Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania and placed inside every sacks.Customs is now coordinating with DENR for the custody of the smuggled items.

Catch I-witness Documentaries tonight as Kara David features the tallest tree in the Southeast Asia.The “Manggis” tree or “Ginoo ”and “The Lord” in Palawan.The tree is 250 feet,taller than the GMA Network Building.Kara David also took the challenge to climb to that tree personally.The tree features its slippery bark,a perfect nesting grounds for several bird species that the hatchlings are being poached by the P’lawan natives,selling them illegally.Lowlanders and P’lawan natives will also be featured as they still practiced barter trade for almost 40 years.She will also introduce the natives who became victims of exploitation as they were duped by the lowlanders who told them to poach for the hatchlings and sell them as pets.
