Alfred Vargas visited PMPC’s Medical Mission
0Philippine Movie Press Club, together with the help of Daniel Razon of UNTV37, held a medical mission last Sunday in Payatas, Quezon City where Alfred Vargas came to visit. He was swarmed by a lot of fans who wnats to see him, even those who were in line to have their medical check up. Singers Ronnie Liang and Chris Cayzer also came as guests on the said PMPC event, while Bangs Garcia came after.

PNP Awarded Tonton Gutierrez and Precious Lara Quigaman
0Tonton Gutierrez and Precious Lara Quigaman was invited by the Philippine National Police to receive their special citation award for portraying the role of a model policemen in the series, ” May Bukas Pa “. PNP Police community relations director General German Doria gave the award yesterday as they showed a good image and dedication to their work as a police. The two came on their complete uniform as they received the award. Gen. Doria also hopes that Tonton and Precious will inspire others specially the PNP people to be a model police and to serve the nation.

CBCP Elections this Week
0Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iniguez, CBCP public affairs head said that CBCP will be having their elections this week. They will be electing the new CBCP President, Aside from that, three administrative head councils, representing Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and 20 commissions and committees chairpersons will also be elected by bishops all over the country. Elections will be held from July 11-12.
UAAP Season 72 – July 11, 2009
072nd Season of UAAP will be held at the Araneta Coliseum on July 11. It will be hosted by Far Eastern University ( FEU ) bearing it’s season’s theme, “One Color. One Goal.” A 2- day basketball game will also be held as an opening for that season . Schools that will participate the game includes UST vs. Adamson (2pm) and DLSU vs. UE (4pm) for July 11; UP vs. NU (2pm) and Ateneo vs. FEU (4pm) for July 12. Imelda Marcos Turned 80
0Former First Lady Imelda Marcos celebrated her 80th Birthday yesterday. The event was held at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City. The party turned out to be an “Imeldific Night” as the ambiance of the party shows the style and glamour of the former first lady. Her friends showed their love and support by giving her that birthday party. Imelda wore a pink national dress, jade earrings and sporting a large diamond ring. Imelda was dubbed before as one of the woman known worldwide for her excessive lifestyle because of her 3,000 pairs of shoes she had. Meanwhile, Imelda also extended her hand of reconciliation to her previous loyal supporters who “disengaged” from her in 2002 by inviting them to her birthday. Her only wish is that she could be given more health and a longer life so that she can devote more of herself in helping the poor.
Akon’s Manila Concert, Rescheduled Again
0Akon’s July 4 concert at the Araneta Coliseum has been rescheduled again because of some unforeseen events. Akon also appeared via video message in Showbiz News Ngayon last night to extend his sincere apologies for the delay of the said event. He also assured the public that their tickets would still be honored this October 23, the scheduled date of the concert and that the postponement could not be helped. He will put on a great show for everyone this October. He will be joined by Billy Crawford on that concert. It is produced by ALV Events International.
