The Search is On for Star Struck Season 5
0GMA-7′s reality- based Artista Search Starstruck is now looking for new batch of stars for their 5th season this year. There will be a grand launch this coming August 30, Sunday in major cities nationwide, with the cooperation of SM Supermalls. Auditions are open to all male and female contestants ages 16-23 years old, a Filipino citizen, can sing,act and dance. Applicants are asked to bring their original and photocopy of their birth certificate, aclose up and whole body picture, a valid id and a parental consent and Id if the applicant is below 18 years old. First leg of the Audition is on August 30 at GMA Network Drive in Quezon City at 10:00 a.m. Watch the launching of the said reality show this Sunday in SOP for more details regarding the audition venues and dates.

Disney Pixar’s ” Up ” Grossed P45.98 M in RP
0Critically acclaimed animated film ” Up ” ngot an impressive response from Filipino moviegoers as it grossed for about P45.98-million for the Aug. 19-23 frame. According to Victor R. Cabrera, managing director of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International, It is the new holder of the record for all-time biggest opening for an animated feature as it bested “Kung Fu Panda” at P38.4 M, and “Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” at P36.5 M. “Up” also surpassed the openings of previous Disney/Pixar titles, “The Incredibles” with P32.1 M, “Ratatouille” at P29 M and “WALL-E” at P19 M. “Up” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International, still showing in over 101 theaters nationwide.
Actress Gina Alajar joins Celebrity Duets Season 3
0Award winning actress Gina Alajar was surprised to know that she will be joining the reality based singing contest Celebrity Duets. She will compete with Brazilian- Japanese Model Akihiro Sato, Jomari Yllna, Bb.Pilipinas Candidate Janina San Miguel, Joel Cruz, and other celebrities. She also revealed of having sleepless nights since she learned about the competition as she doesn’t have any experience in singing but she will give her best to compete. Right now, she’s been calling up her friends to support her through text votes as it also play a major part to determine who will be the winner. Christian Bautista Collaborates with Sarah Geronimo
0Christian Bautista will be releasing his album soon entitled, Romance Revisited : The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan. This time, he collaborates with Sarah Geronimo as they revived the song Please Be Careful with My Heart originally done by Regine Velasquez and Jose Mari Chan. In spite of their different recording outfits, where Sarah is from Viva while Christian is from Universal records, they have already made an arrangement for the said album so that there will be no conflicts in the end. Meanwhile, Sarah continues the promotion of The Next One: The Philippine Tour.
Miss Universe 2009 – Ms. Venezuela
0Ms. Venezuela Stefania Fernandez bested among 83 other candidates at Miss Universe 2009 Pageant held at the Bahamas as she was crowned as the new winner for this year. This would be the second year in a row that the winner came from their country after Dayana Mendoza won in 2008. The pageant was hosted by Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan,the televised event includes musical performances by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. Unfortunately, our very own Pamela Bianca Manalo, did not make it to the final 15 of the said competition.
Jabbawockeez Performs Live in Manila
0Jabbawockeez will perform live in Manila this coming September at the selected Ayala Malls. The group was the first winners of the reality based competition America’s Best Dance Crew.
